Live, Work And Play In Playa El Rodadero
“I came for a week and stayed for more than 2 months at Wilson and Liz’s villa. They were incredible hosts, we regularly ate meals together and I loved their karaoke nights. My room was great for digital nomads like me to work during the day with a good desk, chair and air conditioning. Highly recommended!”

“My time in Santa Marta was unforgettable and it’s all thanks to the incredible hospitality of Wilson and Liz. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed like family. The house was perfect, but what truly made the experience magical was the community they’ve created. I met amazing people, made new friends, shared moments that will stay with me forever. This trip didn’t just give me a place to stay, it changed my life. Thank you, Wilson and Liz, for opening your home and hearts. I can’t wait to return!”

Frequently asked questions
1. When is the best time to come visit?
The peak season is the dry season from December to April, with Christmas, New Year’s, and Semana Santa being the busiest times of the year when it gets crowded.
The rainy season begins in May and lasts until November but since Santa Marta and Playa El Rodadero is in the rain shadows of the world’s tallest coastal mountain range, it has one of the lightest rainy seasons in Colombia.
While Bogota and Medellin can be quite rainy and overcast in the rainy season, El Rodadero continues to be consistently sunny with afternoon thunderstorms.
We actually prefer the rainy season because everything is green, the beaches are quieter and it’s not as hot.
2. What’s included in my stay?
You get a private room with a double bed, a dedicated workspace, air conditioning, and a flat-screen TV. There’s a shared kitchen, coworking lounge, purified drinking water, laundry service and common bathrooms. Social areas make it easy to live and work comfortably.
3. How strong is the internet?
We use fast Starlink internet so video calls, cloud sync and remote work flow smoothly without lag or frequent outages that some places in Colombia can have.
4. Can I stay short term or long term?
Yes, we offer weekly stays and monthly options.
If you want to stay longer, we can even help with visa extensions and digital nomad visa support.
If you would prefer a private condo, we can also help you rent a place in the area if you would prefer more privacy and then you’re free to join us for any social events.
5. Is El Rodadero a good place to work remotely?
Yes, the internet setup is solid and the villa has good workspaces.
Some areas of Santa Marta have painfully slow Internet, flooding in the rainy season and intermittent power outages so choosing your neighborhood is very important.
Santa Marta’s cost of living is much lower than many Western cities and lower than Medellin or Bogota.
El Rodadero also has some good cafes with wifi, a coworking space and reliable transport around town by regular buses that cost less than $1.
